Home Economics (2021)
Consider a family in which the middle child, the typical achiever, is unsuccessful while the youngest child, the rebellious slacker, becomes a millionaire. This book provides a fresh perspective on the concept of social status and the tensions it may create even within a single family generation. The fact that co-creator Michael Colton’s biography served as inspiration for Home Economics only adds to the show’s intrigue. Home Economics has a recognizable cast and manages to strike a good balance between corny jokes, traditional sitcom tropes, and heartfelt moments, making it a comedy that virtually anybody can enjoy. Abbott Elementary (2021)
